History, Mission & Vision

HISTORY:  Prepare the Way International was conceived in the heart of Senior Pastor Rob Winters, on June 29th, 1986, in a church in Hampton, VA, when he received the baptism in the Holy Spirit and a destiny prophetic word based on Isaiah 40:3-5. Rob met Kay in a church in Charleston, SC in 1989 where Rob preached his first pulpit message.  They were later married on February 16, 1991.  Rob earned a Master of Biblical Studies degree from Christian International in 1992, and began an itinerant prophetic ministry in South Carolina and Georgia. After serving as associate pastors at a church in Goose Creek, SC, the Lord spoke to Rob & Kay separately on December 19, 1995 at 2 AM to move to Phoenix. Since arriving in Phoenix in April 1996, Rob & Kay have ministered itinerantly in prophetic ministry, led the GateKeepers International Prophetic Network (2003-2008), and founded Prepare the Way International in 2009.  Shortly thereafter, Kay began to teach on spiritual warfare and answered her divine calling to minister to Native America.  After six years of conducting prophetic gatherings in Phoenix, the Lord impressed upon Rob & Kay to  found Prepare the Way International Church in January 2016.  In November 2018, Rob earned and was honored to recieve the degree of Doctor of Ministry in Discipleship (DMin).

MISSION:   The mission of Prepare the Way International Church is to prepare the way of the Lord, by making straight in the Arizonan desert a highway for our God, so that the glory of the Lord may be revealed and that all flesh will see it together (Isaiah 40:3-5).

VISION: The vision of Prepare the Way International Church is to fulfill our mission by becoming an apostolic and prophetic holy temple in the Lord - a glorious dwelling place of God in the Spirit, where the lost are saved,  the sick are healed, and the oppressed are freed. To that end, Pastors Rob & Kay have been ordained through and become hub leaders in Phoenix for Global Reformers - an apostolic network led by Apostle Robert Henderson, who serves on our board of directors, along with Beverley Watkins, an arising, international apostolic leader with Global Reformers. Prepare the Way International Church is an apostolic center that is focused on equipping the saints for works of ministry through our School of Discipleship conducted on Wednesdays @ 6:30 PM.   Our School of Discipleship features ministers throughout the greater Phoenix area, who equip the saints in various aspects of ministry.  Eventually, we seek to establish an alliance of ministers, called by God to steward the Arizona awakening.
